I pitched the idea to Mike a couple weeks ago, he liked it, Mykl agreed to it, so we got to work on it and now here it is! Winter League Baseball is probably what you guessed, a simulation baseball league, using free agents, just like the MLF. The season starts this winter, and will replace the winter/spring season of the MLF. Partially to give Mike a break from simming, and partially to give us all a break from football.
There will be ten teams in the league, five teams west of the Mississippi River will make up the Pacific League, and five teams east of the Mississippi will make up the Atlantic League.
I will be simming all games using MLB The Show. We decided games will be seven innings long. The season is like a typical football season. The regular season will consist of ten games, 8 games against teams in your league, and two interleague games. The top two teams in each league will advance to the playoffs, the first place team being named league champion, and the second place team being named the wild card. In the playoffs, instead of single games, there will be best two-of-three series.
You will be able to claim your teams and locations in the next post. If you have any questions, or if I confused you somewhere 'cuz I do that, leave your questions in the comments and they will be addressed in a future post.
